The BaseCamp Library is a recent addition and marks the beginning of a larger endeavour: a living, breathing archive that grows and evolves. It is a space born from the need for more vibrant social spaces that foster community and enable the sharing of tools and ideas, free from production-driven constraints.
«Hold The Sound» is a curated selection of over 150 art books united by a desire to capture the ephemeral nature of sound through verbal and visual expression. These works encourage a deeper engagement with listening and attention, presenting a variety of voices that offer thought-provoking ideas, introductions and new ways of accessing auditory phenomena.
‘Eco Echoes’ is the new theme of the BaseCamp 2025 library.
It provides a space for attunement to both perceived and unseen ecologies and to the ways in which our actions reverberate across human and non-human worlds.
Drawing inspiration from Ursula K. Le Guin’s Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction, this collection reimagines the art of storytelling. Through artistic approaches and thoughtful selections, Eco Echoes sparks conversation and invites reflection. It serves as a space in which to sense the present and co-create resonant futures.
As an evolving archive expanding to different art spaces throughout the year (Fabbrica del Vapore, Cabaret Voltaire, Accademia Albertina di Torino) the free, open BaseCamp library is maintained as an organic platform.
