naomi x mato
Friday, August 8th, 12:30-13:30
BaseCamp PopUp / Library
Istituto Sant’Eugenio
Via al Sasso 1, Locarno
naomi and mato are two interdisciplinary artists from Fribourg/Ticino.
They are two friends collaborating on a project conceived for Base Camp 2025. While mato is primarily involved in music, he is a self-taught artist who blends dark samples reminiscent of Boards of Canada, ultrasounds inspired by Vegyn, harmonies similar to Imogen Heap, and deconstructed beats like White Armor. He creates a sonic fusion that envelops his voice, whether he raps, speaks, sings, or remains silent.
naomi defines herself as an interdisciplinary artist, in whose art language weaves itself through in a poetic manner time and again. She sees great potential in engaging with current topics through collective art creation.
The project consists of a collective poetry workshop focused on the theme of resistance, which will take place during Base Camp 2025, as well as a sound performance that will reflect atmospheric fragments of this collective writing experience.
In collaboration with transition radio.
