Pop songs drown in a stream of consciousness, voice and guitar in a beautiful struggle to stay afloat among the droning and the noise. Fragments of stories that need no completion, for when everything is crumbling, what is there to do but to lay mosaics of dust? Melodies morph into textures, ghosts of slowcore and shoegaze haunt the sonic landscape that ranges from lo-fi aesthetics to ambient swellings and grainy tapestries of sound.
Bill Bühler has mainly been around as 1/2 of the electro-pop duo mischgewebe, while in his own artistic practice experimenting more freely with sound, text, video and installation. Inspired by these last years spent in a balancing act between pop & experimental projects, he tried to bring the best of both worlds together in his debut EP splinter, which came out this February on CRTTR.
